Julia Szabo Animals can't talk - yet - so Julia Szabo speaks for them. A nationally recognized animal advocate and lifestyle expert, she writes the enormously popular weekly "Pets" column in the Sunday New York Post, and the monthly "You & Your Pet" column for Hearst's Country Living magazine. She has also written on animals for The New York Times Magazine, Town & Country, The New Yorker, Centurion, Hallmark, and The Bark, among others. The author of five books, including the acclaimed Animal House Style: Designing a Home to Share With Your Pets (Bulfinch Press), she's in demand for her expert commentary on TV and in print and electronic media. She's also a frequent guest of Sirius Radio's Martha Stewart channel, where she regularly answers callers' questions live on "Morning Living." Julia has customized the decor at her Manhattan apartment and upstate country cottage for the comfort of her creatures: her beloved family of dogs and cats, all of them rescued. When she's not rehabilitating foundling animals, she's revamping found furniture, turning castoffs into couture-quality "Animal House Style" home furnishings sold exclusively at Phoebe Cates Kline's Madison Avenue store Blue Tree.
